I'm excited to share a Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired bridal shower we hosted several years ago. I came across these pictures recently and it brought back so many wonderful memories of my dear friend, Tiffany, who at the time was getting ready to marry the love of her life. I was honored to be one of her bridesmaids and to be a part of this special time in her life.  

The private residence we held the shower at was simply perfect. The covered patio made for a wonderful intimate gathering space and the white gravel pavement truly added a special touch to the ambience.

The tiffany blue custom pocket cover housed the invitation which featured delicate floral images and elegant script font. Baby's breath flowers and diamond shaped resins were used throughout on the buffet table and as centerpieces. At each setting, guests received a hand crafted Tiffany Box filled with Earl Grey Ganache Vanilla Bean Macarons baked by May, Maid of Honor and close friend, who happens to be an incredibly talented chef. 

The breakfast buffet table included donuts, muffins, bagels, crispy bacon with scrambled eggs, mini pancake stacks, french toasts, parfaits with raspberry, and granola clusters. Yum!!

 Guests were asked to dress for the occasion and arrive in a little black dress. Everyone looked fabulous especially the guest of honor in her tiara that we made her wear!  For cake, we served homemade Tiramisu. Yes, it tasted just as good as it looked! 

We decided to forgo the typical shower games and instead created a simple yet fun activity that payed homage to the cracker jack reference in the film. Each custom popcorn box were filled with cracker jacks and a "special prize" inside; a silver ring. We inscribed one with Tiffany's initial and whoever had the marked ring was our winner. We also had blank cards created for guests to write a wedding blessing to the fabulous couple.  

I can't believe how fast 4 years have flown by but I'm so thankful we have memories captured on camera to look back on. Moments like these stay in your heart forever despite how many more years continue to pass. 

Earlier this week, I posted a fun Hair Bow and Bow Tie themed party. Today, I'm back to share how to create these adorable bows in just a few simple steps. AND for those who dislike sewing, it's your day! This is a no sew project. Woohoo!

Instructions

1. For hair bow, cut ribbon at 2 1/2" & 6 3/4". For bow tie, cut ribbon at 2" and 8".

2. Take shorter length ribbon & fold in thirds. Glue ends together. 

3. Take the longer length ribbon & glue ends together. Flip ribbon over. Fold in half & pull back top & bottom creating an accordion fold. 

4. Loop the smaller piece over the bow & position in the middle. 

5. Run glue across clip. Adhere to the back of the bow & middle piece to secure in place. 

Easy peasy, right? To recreate the favor bags, I printed my text directly on a 4 3/4" x 9" bag. You can create your own or a digital file is available for purchase here. Punch a hole on your bag, clip the bow in place, and you're done!

A few weeks ago we celebrated my niece and nephew who turned 6 and 3. They are exactly 3 years and 1 day apart. The dilemma my sister and many parents who have children with close birthdays face is deciding whether to have a separate party for each or a joint one.

Most will agree while they would like to give each child a party of their own, it's more practical to combine them. It eliminates the inconvenience of having family and friends block out two weekends within a short timeframe, especially for those who do not reside nearby, and the extra amount of effort needed to prep two events back to back.

One of the biggest challenges of having a joint party, however, is coming up with a cohesive theme that will suit both kids. This has been the trickiest part for my sister who has a girl and a boy with different interests. Last year, she did a mermaid and pirate theme and that worked out well, but as each year passes, she predicts it will become more challenging. This year, she enlisted me to help with the decor and I happily obliged. We went through a couple of different ideas and narrowed it down to a hair bow and bow tie theme. We ran it by the kids and they were both on board and excited. 

One of the ways to make it a little more special is having separate cakes for each child. This allows them to have something to call their own on a day they are sharing basically everything.  

To personalize it a bit more, I created cake toppers using wood letters of their first initial.

Place settings included coordinating napkins folded into bows.

I had the most fun creating the favor bags. Each kiddo received one, adorned with a handmade hair bow or bow tie. Stay tuned, as I share how to make these in my next post.
